Brad Pitt In World War Z - Wow?!

World War Z. A soon-to-be epic new zombie apocalypse movie based on a novel of the same name authored by Max Brooks. Aside from the fact that Brad Pitt kicks everything up a notch, there's something really 'weird' about this trailer...

Brad Pitt is Gerry Lane, a UN employee and family man. His world is turned upside down when the city begins to overrun with zombies. This happens out of nowhere. Which is probably the first thing that strikes us about the trailer. No reference is given in the trailer about a certain 'up-coming' apocalyptic event...or the end of the world. Instead, we jump straight into a world which is seemingly tearing itself apart.

Lane is asked to lead an assault against the undead while leaving his family behind. In a time where we see zombie flicks surrounding groups stranded in malls and abandoned in countrysides, here, we get zombies mindlessly flooding the streets.

I watched the trailer at the studio, and everyone was going, 'Why the f*** are they killing innocent people?!' < - which isn't a good sign. The CG is just so god-awful, that it's unbearable to watch even zombies getting lead pumped into them. There's even a scene with zombies piling up a wall. A WALL!

US weekly in October 2011, 'The film is already over budget and over schedule'. After going through extensive rewrites, and reshoots the original release date of December this year, was pushed to June 21, 2013. I for one, can't wait to see how this turns out. Personally, I find this to be a zombie flick that was made just for the heck of it. I mean, if you're gonna adapt a novel, at least get the trailer right? Not to mention the CG? Then again, Brad Pitt's probably only in it for the paycheck. Or who knows, maybe the Inglorious Basterds star actually wanted to land a role in a zombie movie of epic proportions.

I'd love to hear what you guys think. Comment below!
